According to the Oklahoma Historical Society, in their Encyclopedia of Oklahoma History and Culture;
In 1898 there were fifty-eight Odd Fellows lodges. On November 16, 1889, seven months after the Land Run of 1889, an organizational meeting of the IOOF was held in Norman, Oklahoma Territory.

However, the article later explains that the I.O.O.F. Grand Lodge of Oklahoma Territory wasn’t formed until April 26, 1983. What did we do in Norman at the “organizational meeting?”
